This is a specialisation course aimed at those who have previous design experience, and who wish to acquire specific expertise in using the software most commonly used by footwear manufacturers (Lectra Systems), and the instruments used with this software. Instruments and Materials The students are provided with all necessary instruments and materials for course work.
Professional Fashion Software suite (Romans'), Wireless connection, lecture notes and text books, fabrics.

Course program
- Software analysis and its function for correct use.
- CAD 2D Introduction and preparation of personal work space/environment.
- Menu description and organisation. Digitalizing a basic pattern and perfecting techniques. Line creation from pattern including assembly margins and symmetry. Cut piece removal (from pattern).
- Digitalizing a new pattern, and pattern perfecting techniques. Line creation from pattern with assembly margins and symmetry.
- Application of specific functions. Cut piece removal (from pattern). Pattern data assignment.
- Application of development functions and subfunctions
- CAD 3D Introduction. Software analysis and function for correct use
- CAD 3D preparation of personal work space/environment.
- Importing lasts and any necessary adjustments. 3D model creation and processing .Application of various materials
- 3D model transfer to 2D flat work surface.
